primalclaws1974 asked: I have heard that the winner in recent years was “The Core”. I found it very interesting, but it was pretty hard to believe, especially the metal that was developed to create their ship.
The one that stands out to me the most is the recent version of “The Day the Earth Stood Still”. Klaatu’s ability to jumpstart machines and people was stupid, and the nanotech that was used to “eat” everything is silly in the fact that if such creatures existed, how would you contain them and control them?
What is your choice for least science-based science fiction movie?

Fright Film Fan asked: …as cheesy and simple as the original “The Day the Earth Stood Still” was, it STILL was a very poignant and important film, in the milestone history of science fiction. Now, apparently, even this classic film is garnishing a remake; here is the trailer…
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=46513
…man, talk about taking the concept of ‘poignant’ to an utmost & downright dark and grim level; if this is just the teaser…a taste of what is to come, as far as this film’s release, and what is to be contained therein, I absolutely cannot wait to see what the robot Gort, looks like, in whatever conception they’ve seen fit to come up with….
…what are your thought and opinions???

Palmerpath asked: Sure, “Invasion of the Saucer Men” and “I Was a Teenage Werewolf” and “Kronos” and the like are fun ’50s diversions, but they could have been so much cooler if they were actually good movies. What titles would you like to see re-newed and improved?

BaitersinSpace asked: I would very much like to see a SEQUEL to the film in the present day of the classic science fiction film WHEN THE EARTH STOOD STILL or failing that a remake of the original in the present day that when Klaatu gets shot, he dies and doesn’t get around to saying “Gort! Deglet ovrosco” - with the modern special effect these days, I think it would be very interesting to see what they could do with either story line, especially a sequel - say Gort came back for some reason - what do you think people - has anyone got any influence out there with Jerry Bruckheimer, Joel Schumacher people like that etc., or maybe it would suit better a director like David Twohy i.e. the excellent film The Arrival and Pitch Black one of the most innovative science fiction film makers I’ve ever seen or perhaps the crème de la crème of scienced fiction himself Mr. James Cameron - well he is in my humble opinion anyway - what do you think people - a good idea? If you don’t think it’s a good idea, please say so!
If you do think it’s a good idea - is there anyone out there with influence with one if not all these big directors or another famous director - preferably not Speilberg as I think lately he’s lost the plot - I mean look at the complete hash of things he made with his War of the Worlds - no apart from him if any one has any influence and you like my idea - please can you say if you can and/or will influence a ‘big money director’ to resurrect Gort - AGAIN please?

LifelessSpace asked: I am working on a script I want it to be a science fiction classic and I love movies such as Event Horizon and Aliens
The script starts in the endless abyss of space. “Camera pans out from a single star as it does thousands more stars can be seen, space except for the alien masses of rock is empty and devoid of life. As the view of the stars expands we see a superior star ship appear. Behind is a massive whirl of stars and on the event horizon of the wormhole is the black darkness the ship has come from. This superior star ship as the camera expands appears ever smaller in the universe.” script extract
The ship is carrying military personnel along with space tourists they are desperate to see beyond our universe and colonated space. some of the military wanted more than just a ride on the space elevator and could not afford the trip so signed up in the military. The ship encounters a core orbital platform devoid of life. On a 28 day depressurising cycle (every 28 days everything
gets blown out into space. They discover licks of plasma throughout the ship and that according to the logs this platform is billions of years old. They would dock and take the platform back to Earth, but our character wants to see more of Space. The plasma synced creatures attack and they learn of technology so devestating it threatens the very existence of their universe
Do you like it or are you being sarcastic?
