What “classic” science fiction or monster B-picture would you like to see re-made?

classic science fiction
Palmerpath asked:

Sure, “Invasion of the Saucer Men” and “I Was a Teenage Werewolf” and “Kronos” and the like are fun ’50s diversions, but they could have been so much cooler if they were actually good movies. What titles would you like to see re-newed and improved?

…I’ve made it no secret, here on Yahoo! Answers, that I would absolutely love to see a remake and/or re-inventioned of the classic campy 1962 horror chiller, “The Day of the Triffids”….

…after all, when was the last time anyone’s really seen a real good man-eating plant movie….

    Forbidden Planet!! Definitely!

“Them” from 1954 or 1953. Starred James Arness and James Whitmore. Giant ants in the sewers of Los Angeles.

None. Every re-make I’ve seen has just ruined a good movie. Dude, they remade Halloween! Is nothing sacred?? Instead of trying to find ways to fix what isn’t broken, they need to try and come up with some damn original ideas.

    Oooh, I know!

Dracula’s Daughter. Very, very funny and scary with ******* overtones. Cast Clive Owen for the straight women, add a few explosions and there’s something for everyone!

Cast Angelina Jolie as the Countess Zaleska, Anthony Hopkins as Van Helsing, and Clive Owen as Van Helsing’s student/psychiarist. Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the Countess’ servant, and Ann Hathaway as the Countess’ victim.

Definitely not “Forbidden Planet” or “The Day the Earth Stood Still”. However a remake of “Plan 9 From Outer Space” or “Brain fromArous” would be interesting.

Probably the best of it’s day. ” THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL” I watch it every so often , I was 7 when I first saw it.
