I have heard that the winner in recent years was “The Core”. I found it very interesting, but it was pretty hard to believe, especially the metal that was developed to create their ship.
The one that stands out to me the most is the recent version of “The Day the Earth Stood Still”. Klaatu’s ability to jumpstart machines and people was stupid, and the nanotech that was used to “eat” everything is silly in the fact that if such creatures existed, how would you contain them and control them?
What is your choice for least science-based science fiction movie?

The Star Wars series has always been pretty unabashedly unscientific. Spaceships going “whoosh” in the vacuum of outer space? A giant worm with teeth living on an asteroid? Dozens of planets with humanly breathable air and humanoid aliens? I haven’t even gotten into “the Force.” None of this, of course, is to criticize Star Wars, which was never intended to be anything more than a space opera. But I definitely would not call it “science-based.”
